Thoughts from MY perspective as a young, Single, man of God…
Leviticus 19:1-2
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.
Holy means: To be separate.
If you want to MAKE a difference, you have to BE DIFFERENT. Set yourself apart from the mannerisms of ungodly culture and society. To be holy is not separating yourself from the world by becoming some kind of hermit or creepy loner, Its separating yourself unto God. Separating yourself to His agenda for your life. Purity.
If you can control your purity and sex life, you’ll be able to control every area of your life.
Wow! Simple, edgy, profound.
I hope this statement sticks with you. In honesty, I will admit that this is a shocking and/or uncomfortable phrase. Knowing that every area of your life (job, friendship, humor, finances, emotions, time, intentions) could be directly influenced by how you treat your purity. Your sex life. Influenced by what you fill your head with via your natural gates. (eyes and ears)
This challenges me to be more on guard then ever!
In conclusion I remind you to be patient. True love has the ability to wait. Lust is hasty and it cannot wait.
A desire for a relationship is not a bad thing! Lust is NOT a desire because desire is good. Lust is a demand.
This is just a small compilation of notes and thoughts regarding Pastor Krist Wildes sermon on purity.
He is brilliant!

As of 4:15pm today I am officially on Twitter. Not that I really care, or that its a big deal in any way, but I have been on the Anti-Twitter band wagon for quite a while now.
I am genuinely open to the idea of Twitter, its a trendy way to mini blog important and the most unimportant things going on in your life. I think I knew I was going to “cave” eventually, seeing how I used to be on the Anti-Blogging band wagon as well… And here I am…
Twitter was much easier to despise though, constantly hearing bad things and complaints about the Twittersphere from Tweeters and non Tweeterers alike.
I think I had a bad taste in my mouth about it…
“Twitter is so dumb, they ALWAYS text me updates. My phone wont shut up!”
Even i know you can avoid that while using Twitter…. Come on.
“I dont need to know about every time you’ve consumed a turkey sandwich while taking a dump!”
#1. Stop yelling at your Twitter phone app like it can hear you, you’ve only accomplished annoying me
#2.
and #3. Delete them off your update list, it sounds difficult but really its not…
p.s. why do people post stuff like that?
Needless to say, there are some users that pretend they think its the dumbest thing in the world ONLY to keep their “cool status” while they non stop Tweet about how cool they think they are…
Gc*B was fantastic tonight (Generation Church Boise) Pastor Shane served the Word like a waiter at a break dance competition (somehow i just referenced scott…)
We Interns, have an over night camping trip this week up to faith heights in McCall. Original schedule was thursday morning till friday afternoon but some of us guys wanted to extend the trip so we went up tonight, wednesday night.
The trip started just fine. Perfectly uncomfortable in the back seat of scotts truck. So us passengers had to resort to some sort of “straight man cuddling”. Now since Dan and Scott were riding up front, our music choices were limited… 2 out of 3 cds we listened to were country… My highlight though was our 3rd cd, GU ‘08. With Seth, Kenrick, Dan, Scott and i singing fantastic worship songs at the top of our lungs with every window rolled down. (We’re not the BEST of singers, but God dosn’t mind)
Upon our arrival i began collecting wood from the stock pile to fuel our cabin living room fire. unable to find a hatchet i used resourcefulness and took it as my responsibility to split wood with a massive pick axe. To my discomfort i realized that i had begun humming some of the country songs we listened to on the way up. I took the pick axe and speared it into the ground to relieve my frustration, also symbolizing the death of the country desires that i seemed to be having.
Our fire roaring, countless card games, itunes jukebox/karaoke… Definitely a fun night. Its now 2:42 in the morning and everyone has finally settled down. Dan is catching some Z’s in the room across the hallway, Seth and Kenrick are watching over the fire as they sleep in the living room, and the faint sound of Scottie singing worship music in the room right below me has faded away…
Goodnight
End Day 1
Our first full day up at Faith Heights consisted of…
We also had three class sessions with Dr. Stan Flemming today. It was absolutely amazing, we talked about different world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. Lots of interesting stuff!
Our second session really stood out to me. He talked a lot about the book of Acts and how crucial our faith is. I would like to share just some of my notes with you;
Dont ever think that your faith that you have now will be the same in ten years… Your faith grows like a seed.
In order for that seed to grow, it needs to break out of its shell.
Our potential as a christian is incredible.
Our seed WILL grow, and God will lead you in areas that tests your faith in order to grow your faith.
God dosnt test you to see if your doing good or bad, its not a grade, its all about growth.
He tests you to make sure your ready for the next big thing in your life.
You see, God dosnt always make bad things happen in your life, but sometimes He does allow them… And His sole purpose for it is to grow your faith. Maybe God is testing you in an area of finances, trust in Him and your faith will grow. Maybe He is testing you with your family members, trust in Him and your faith will grow. Testing you in a relationship, trust in Him, wait on His timing and your faith will grow.
Easter was yesterday and it was quite amazing. I started my day off with an incredible church service followed by teaching my usual class of 4th graders who were hopped up on an almost unlawful amount of assorted candies. I guess it will make the normal class next week seem like a cake walk. After church i got to head over to my parents house in 2C (Nampa)
I have been moved out of their house for about 8 months now, so going back every sunday to hang out with my incredible family and incredible dinners that consist of steak meat or rib meat (Dad takes care of me) is always a highlight in my week.
So I cruised out to Nampa and it was a beautiful day outside so i dropped the windows down and threw in a super chill cd (only because my i-pod is dead) that composed a various selection of songs such as worship, acoustic, death cab, and others that i dont really know. Typically my buddy Britt makes all my mix cds so the songs i dont know are most likely crap bands that he is trying to brain wash me with. But in the moment it all sounds good.
As i was driving down the back roads, windows down, with my big yellow sunglasses (which dont look nearly as cool on me anymore without my long hair) i began to thank God for everything going on in my life. I thanked Him for the beautiful day, for His resurrection that we celebrate on Easter, for my awesome family, for the greatest friends in the world, incredible church, wonderful pastors that never gave up on us individuals, for a car that works, for the dinner i was soon to devour…
Now by all means, my life is not “perfect”… But because Jesus is in control of my life, i have nothing to complain, or worry about. My life is full of the joy of the Lord and i am loving every second of it.
I hope you are living your life in this Joy
Because nothing else can compare to a life lived with Christ
